- The fighting tutorial ended prematurely, because you pushed the trainer out of the arena, that always interupts the fighting. If you continued, he would show you dodging, feints and probably explained the stamina system a bit better.
While fighting you kept attacking with depleted stamina (the yellow thing on your health bar), which meant you couldn't land a blow and also enemy's attacks were directly affecting your HP (which only happens after your stamina is depleted).
With a bit of practice it is possible to be beating at least the easy and medium opponents consistently, you just have to be careful about stamina, and after each few blows wait few seconds for it to restore and allow you to have some cushion for both offense and defense.
Also, if the enemy uses the perfect block (slow time one) and counterattacks, you can block him back and counterattack yourself, which he rarely manages to block.

- You should definetley play mount and blade warband multyplayer (most perferably a mod called cRPG) its all noobs there 100%. Fun video to watch.
