Dyskusja o Combat S1E11 A Day in June

- They commissioned Hanley, made him platoon leader, and never replaced him as platoon sergeant.

That was the only rifle grenade they were issued for the last year of the war in Europe.
- D-Day anecdote. troops were fed a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon and sausage by the Brits wanting the good chaps to begin on a full stomach. Delays made some so seasick that the breakfast disabled them and they hit the beaches in very bad shape, enough to get many killed.
- Looks like a Patton tank.
- So stupid...I'm glad this show got better.
- Why does Braddock remind me of Lou Costello????
- You'd think this was season 1 and Episode 1. This episode shows them before they even set foot on European soil and the LT was only a Master Sgt.
- It was a Great show and still is 50 years later. Saunders and the gang were lucky that the Germans fired there weapons like they had blind folds on.
- my dad love to watch combat now me and my family see on u tube thanks
- Question ? Who's 'Corporal ' ?  There's always a Sgt and a lieutenant but never a corporal: The rest are always privates. Don't these squads have to have a corporal ?  Caje is the logical choice but as we see here the private stripe on his sleeve. The others don't have a stripe sometimes.  Just a curious foible of the series. I think there is an episode that includes a temporary corporal but he's not a permanent member of the squad.
- I just wonder how much Speiolberg  was influenced by watching "COMBAT" and then incorporating  the scences  from the TV serires?
- Wondering if Spielburg was inspired by this sequence when he made "Saving Private Ryan"
- Harry Dean Stanton
- Best fucking show ever
- First lesson in combat... don't stand up to shoot, or you'll get shot...
- If Forgotten Front is ep1 with Hanley being lieutenant n Saunders was staff sergeant, how's this ep came into being with both of them demoted?
- One of my favorite tv series when I was growing up. Always remembered the time it would come on and made sure I was home to watch it. Saturday evenings 6:00. Never had to worry about not seeing it. My dad was a WWII Combat soldier and he watched it too. Thanks for the great show and memory's.
- God Bless the military that made Normandy.  If you could get hated before, I don't think it can happen after this.
- Amazing!
