Dyskusja o COMBAT! s.2 ep.17: "The Pillbox" (1964)

- gabinet psychologiczny – Gestalt Lublin
- It was rainy all night. But in the morning he walked ont the dry land. This the miracle.
- I was a little confused how Lt. Hanley when initially wounded could "not {his} own shoelaces".  Then, is carrying Stark, then the kraut.  Must be the officer backbone (lol, I was an officer once myself and could not have done it.  Oh well, I was a REMF)
- 1963.  Morrow and Jason must have been good friend to share the spotlight, and so well, helping to make the other to achieve more, on a regular basis.  Jason is undervalued by critics but he was an excellent actor and Morrow a directing talent.  Shame they didn't do more after Combat.  But it must have been a grueling five years.  Perhaps Morrow's fatigue was not pure acting.
- S2E17: The Pillbox. Very interesting. The script is well written but is meant for Lieutenant Hanley (Rick Jason) as the inner moral conflict would have been resolved in a blink of an eye if it were Sgt. Saunders in the same position. As it is, Vic Morrow is directing. Lieutenant Hanley usually does not hold up well in moral conflicts but in the last scene, he redeems himself by finally hearing the cries of Dorfman (Albert Paulsen) and shows some degree of humanity in taking him to some first aid station. Interesting to see Lt. Hanley show interest and compassion in the wounded soldier initially but any idea of being taken prisoner is out of the question. We have already seen Sgt. Saunders surrender the whole squad when the occasion requires it.
Great to see Warren Oates here known in the Wild Bunch, In the Heat of the Night and towards the end in Stripes. Like Vic Morrow, he left us in 1982 at the age of 53.
Albert Paulsen (Dorfman) despite his German accent came from Equador and played mostly on TV in various series and at least 3 times in Combat. Albert Paulsen left us in 2004 at almost 79 years of age. Merci pour le téléchargement.
- at 3:40 "TANK!" I was just thinking: don´t worry, its an american :D
- Am really enjoying all these combats. Thank you....

- This show doesn't consider Warren Oates a guest star? 👊👀😫🔫
- This story kept to literacy.  It has a huge magnitude.  For all of the training, this show explains, not all the warriors may be able to shot.  Also, I really can't ingrate, the inclination to want life and not take it is human.  I swear to God it's all a person would have.  The show has an honesty I've never seen in any show before.  It can't be from hollywood.  It's from somewhere else.  I couldn't shot because they were in sedate quarters.  We can find everyone that can shoot and be done.  There's perfect to find them in I swear.  I died.
- if I was stark I would have shot the lieutenant, problem solved
- Lt. Hanley could have ordered his German prisoners to carry the wounded soldier to the American front line. There were even supplies in and around the bunker to make a carrying apparatus.
- War is hell, and these episodes were about civilized nations fighting war for what, because of some peoples ambitions, and ironic things happen in war, such as a LT, trying to save an American, and ending up saving a German!
- the kraut in the glasses was also the scientist that developed the NEXIS REPLICANTS in the movie   BLADE RUNNER
- Interesting turn in the ending
- Each episode is like a little movie. Great directing, great actors, great plots! I'm on 27 of 157 episodes now. Thanks for posting these!!!
- Shake me ache me
- Jesus said....Love your enemies
- Vic Morrow one of the best actors ever!!!!
- One of the best shows ever on the air!!!!!!!
- Thanks also for uploading them. Never knew how great they were when watching in the 60's being 10 - 15 years old. Totally different understanding of Saunders. Only Morrow could have played him.
- Warren Oates was one of the best.
